Meet our People & Culture team

Our People & Culture team includes:

Claudia Kurth - P&C General Manager

claudiaClaudia joined Wavelength in August 2019 as the GM of People & Culture, having previously worked with Wavelength as the Head of HR in 2013-2014 and maintained a regular connection with the business throughout this time on a Consulting basis. Claudia re-joined Wavelength as she genuinely believes in the focus of the business, its contribution to the broader community and the people considerations which play a part in every decision made.

Claudia is a pragmatic HR practitioner, who balances the people and commercial aspects of the function, ensuring that fairness and equality are always front of mind whilst also taking into account the continued success of the business and what this requires.

What does Wavelength look for in its employees?

A true Wavie strikes that delicate balance of a sense of ambition and a drive to succeed, with genuine care for their colleagues and the community they work with. We also look for an innate sense of curiosity and the desire to continuously improve on the way things are done.

When not managing all things HR, Claudia spends the majority of her time courtside at various sporting events, cheering on her energetic daughter, or exploring new local restaurants and cafes in a socially distanced safe way!

Victoria Wilk - P&C Business Partner

VictoriaVictoria joined Wavelength in July 2020 as an HR Business Partner. Victoria is covering Katharine Simmonds for a period of approximately 10 months whilst she is on Parental leave.

Victoria started her corporate career as a successful recruiter specialising in Secretarial Support and then moved into a mixture of Internal Recruitment and HR roles across various industries (FMCG, Automotive). Julia Buckley - Learning & Development Manager

Julia Buckley

Julia joined Wavelength in 2010 as a Para Consultant in the GP team. Since then she has had many roles including Senior Para Consultant, Business Analyst, Business Improvement Manager and Executive Assistant to the CEO. Now as Learning and Development Manager Julia is able to use her extensive knowledge of the business to ensure all new and existing staff achieve the best learning outcomes possible and have access to career development. Julia is focused on ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new "Wavies" as well as helping current employees to grow and develop.

What is Wavelength’s approach to career development?

Wavelength has always taken a generous approach to staff development, with numerous opportunities for staff to learn and grow with the business. We have a competency framework which covers all the roles in our organisation.

All positions are mapped to this framework - this means that staff have a very clear picture of what is required of them, where they can leverage off their strengths to progress internally, and where development opportunities lie.

We believe a clear learning strategy means we can build sustainable people capability from the induction of new staff all the way through to ongoing professional development for our most experienced staff. We also recognise that everyone learns differently and that it’s important to tailor our approach to each learning style as well as the level of experience. We constantly review our written, digital and classroom content to ensure you have what you need, when you need it, making sure we leverage only the most relevant resources and experiences to maximise your potential.

Tatiana Dewhurst - People and Culture Coordinator

tatianaTatiana joined Wavelength in January 2019 as a float Para Consultant and worked across 3 specialties before her most recent move to the People and Culture team. During her time as a Para Consultant, Tatiana's knowledge of client and candidate requirements was invaluable and helped strengthen pre-existing relationships as well enable the smooth and comprehensive training of new Para ”Wavies.”

Tatiana excelled in her role as para consultant, often taking on extra challenges and responsibilities so it was only fitting she progress into another department where her knowledge and skills of the recruitment side of the business will no doubt contribute to her success on the people side. The people and culture space will enable Tatiana to utilise her company and culture knowledge as well as develop and learn a new area of the business all the while providing her with the career development and progression that Wavelength prides itself on.

When Tatiana’s not focused on all things P&C related, she can be found hanging with friends, working out, and enjoying all Sydney has to offer.
