Wavelength is a dedicated Medical Recruitment specialist helping healthcare professionals find both locum and permanent roles throughout Australia. We take great pride in the impact of our work and without our services, many struggling hospitals and remote communities would go without critical medical staff.
Celebrating our 21st Anniversary in 2020, we continue to evolve, innovate and re-invent. Having acquired the specialist Executive Search Firm, Ccentric, we now have Australia’s first vertically integrated healthcare recruitment firm created and we are now even better equipped to deliver on our purpose and vision.
With over 90 employees placing over 3,000 doctors a year into locum and permanent roles across the complete range of medical specialties – from anaesthetics, psychiatry and surgery, to general practice, emergency medicine, radiology, pathology, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology.

Wavelength was established in 1998 by Claire Ponsford and Dr John Bethell. Claire was a medical personnel manager in the British NHS and worked in the Workforce Planning Division of NSW Health before starting her career in recruitment.
John is a qualified medical doctor who graduated from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland and relocated to Australia to work in the Queensland and NSW hospital systems before moving into recruitment. Claire and John first worked together at Morgan & Banks (now known as Hudson) before founding Wavelength International.

About Our CEO
In 2016, we also welcomed Chris Riley as our Chief Executive Officer, prior to 2016 Chris has had an extensive career history leading recruitment companies across Australia and New Zealand.
Chris' broad 30-year senior recruitment management experience is helping us align our services more closely to our clients and candidates in an increasingly competitive market.
Chris also has the diverse experience and strategic vision we need to grow our business whilst at the same time helping to preserve and maintain our very special workplace culture.
