Caitlyn has been working at Wavelength for seven years! Caitlyn first joined Wave as an office Administrator and over her time has progressed to the Office Manager role. During this time, Caitlyn has also gained a diploma in Graphic Design while working and studying part-time and she now uses these extra skills to help our Marketing team with design projects.
How would you describe your work day?
I have set tasks that need to be completed every day but I am also typically across various different projects at any given time. This is great because no two days are the same and it really keeps me on my toes and makes my work more enjoyable. I may be going from helping formulate culture strategy and events one second to then organising the fixing of a broken light!
What are your main responsibilities?
My main responsibility is our office and making sure everyone underneath its roof is kept happy! With that comes keeping all our items fully stocked and facilities working well. I will urgently work on rectifying various maintenance issues with our real estate or implementing improvements to the office as a priority when they arise.
I also run the front desk and welcome guests, whilst fielding calls and emails. Then once the necessities are done I get to work on the more fun stuff like planning our three big company parties we have each year, coordinating volunteering opportunities for staff (they all get one free volunteer day each year!), organising events in the office like charity days and themed drinks, running our Culture Club where we talk all thing office moral and work-life balance to see what initiatives we can implement at Wave to retain the fun culture. On top of all that I am Chief Fire Warden, WHS Officer and a First Aider, so my hands are very full!
What do you enjoy most about working at Wavelength?
It’s got to be the people I work with every day. At Wavelength I have found friends for life and I love coming to work to see them every day. It is evident when Wavelength hires new people they are truly invested in finding people who genuinely align with our culture and values and become part of the Wavie family.
